The Victory Day on or around May 9 is one of the most important holidays in Russia. It celebrates the surrender of Germany in 1945 and thus the end of one of the bloodiest wars in Russia’s history, always with a huge military demonstration.
This day, I suspect, can be terribly abused.
The war in Ukraine
Russia’s successes in the Ukraine war do not allow Putin to save face and talk about victory. I suspect he is abusing this day and the occasion for Russia’s general mobilization for a war on the battlefield Ukraine (against NATO). This would be the call for the 3rd world war in just a few days.
The first step in solving any problem is recognizing there is one.
